Napoli Director, Giovanni Manna has disclosed that the initial plan of the club was an outright sale of Victor Osimhen.
Recall that Osimhen later joined Galatasaray on loan in the 2024 summer transfer window after moves to other European clubs including Paris Saint- Germain (PSG) and Chelsea did not come to fruition.
Reacting to the departure of the Nigerian international, Manna said that the move to the Turkish side commenced as soon as the transfer window in Italy ended.
“Osimhen to Galatasaray deal started right after the end of the summer window in Italy,” he told Radio CRC.
The Italian club director added: “It’s been a perfect solution for all of us in that moment, even if our initial plan was to sell Victor and not to accept a loan.”
